Treasure House A.C./ Casa de Tesoros A.C.

A HIDDEN CRISIS IN THE HEART OF MEXICO.
Mexico faces one of the most urgent child-exploitation crises in the Western Hemisphere. Jalisco—where Treasure House is located—is one of the hardest-hit states.
Family-based trafficking and abuse are severely underreported, leaving thousands of girls invisible to authorities. Without interventions like Treasure House, many vulnerable girls would remain unprotected or lost within the system.
Chapala Corridor

Chapala and the surrounding Lake Chapala corridor—including Ajijic and Jocotepec—are identified as hotspots for child sex tourism and exploitation. High foreign tourism, economic disparities, and limited child-protection infrastructure contribute to elevated risk.
Why is the risk so high?
-
High foreign tourism
-
Economic disparities
-
Limited protection infrastructure
-
Family-based trafficking
